The Butterfly Effect: A Look inside Faye Ritchie's Mystical Art

“I remember growing up seeing my father’s paintings on the walls of our home. They inspired me to strive to have the same talent one day.”

Hailing originally from Point Arena, California, Ritchie comes from a family of artists. Her father, one of her main inspirations for her ambition, motivated Faye’s skill yet her home town also held vast influence in her pieces.

Living in a small town along the Mendocino coastline, Ritchie was surrounded by nature and wildlife. Her paintings vary from exceptional entomology drawings to enchanted fauna and flora.

Ritchie is currently an Art Studio major at Sonoma State University. Her goal is to become a biological illustrator.

“I would love to do illustrations for field guides or textbooks. I think it would be the perfect way to combine my love of art and my interest in science and nature.”
