"SIREN'S SONG" by Emma Briseno
On an empty highway, by your side Wisps of heat carry the terra-cotta sky.
Sweat glues my sun kissed thighs Onto worn leather seats.
Through the old yellowed window stuck an inch from shut, Seeps the waterless Air. Steadily, she pours herself onto me.
Pushing herself between, the highlights in my baby hair, Caressing the flush of my cheeks.
Then, grazing the bow of my heart shaped lips, She captivatingly hums her aeolian song.
Thus began my affair with the fluidity of the Wind.
